"Terminated request because of suspicious input data."

After carefully crafting a message with syntax examples wrapped in <code> tags Drupal will often produce "Terminated request because of suspicious input data" thus causing the browser to clear all the text when paging back.

I have become so paranoid before previewing that I routinely copy all the text beforehand. Clearly this calls for something more user-friendly like redirecting the user back to the edit page to correct the input (which 99.9% of the time is just a typo and not malicious.)

stable contributed modules -- list of

I know people ask how to differentiate between stable contributed modules and more risky contribute modules. On this forum I'll try to compile a list of contributed modules used by big Drupal projects, who presumably were very careful to pick very stable modules.

Here is a list of stable contributed modules that are being used by buyblue.org
Drupal version 4.7

Can't log in via IE (from a specific machine)

From my main macine I can't log into drupal site with IE.
Not my site, and not drupal.org

I normally use FF, but as this is my main machine I (did) use IE to log into my drupal site to check how content looked for IE users (still the majority, sadly).
I've set override automatic cookie handling, cleared the cache, set it to the lowest security setting... all to no avail.

As I don't actually *use IE it's not that critical, but if this is happening to me I'm guessing I'll have a user ask about the same issue sooner or later.

Still another ajax use: adding comments

I just found this feature in wordpress 2.0 under cerntain themes (say, k2). When a user submits his comment, the whole page is not reloaded while the new comment is added. I don't know any pragmatic utility of such a feature. But superficially, it's really amazing :-)

Torn between 4.6 and 4.7

I've been experimenting heavily with drupal 4.6 over the last several weeks. I have been working on creating a new node based the wikipage.module which allows all users to edit the wiki pages. Problem is, I would like to add a log message to the revision history.

In another forum discussion, someone recommended that I experiment with 4.7. Bingo...that works really well. I created my module to work in 4.7, and it does everything that I need it to...for that module.

The problem is that there aren't a lot of modules out yet for 4.7. And there are a few I really want to implement such as BBcode, freelinking, movie review, book review, etc. I'm not bad at PHP, so I could probably bring these up to date as 4.7 modules (with a lot of playing around as I havn't yet done very much module writing revision for drupal). Time is an issue, however, and I don't know that I have a whole lot of time to make things 100% perfect. So I keep thinking that maybe I should stick to 4.6 for now to avoid compatibility and other problems.

My goal is to bring my site up in February. I'm hoping some of you have some good advice. Should I stick with 4.6 and just live with the fact that I won't have revision log messages? Or should I go to 4.7 and potentially waste a lot of time trying to get the modules I want up to par?

What do you th

seaching this web site

Being fairly new to Drupal, many times, I want to search the API list or see the reference for a hook_ function. When I type in the keywords, I almost always get a long list of forum discusssions. While I might want to see those on occassion, I'd much rather go straight to the "official" documentation in the handbook. Is there a way to limit the search to the handbook only? If not, is that possible to add?

Thanks,

David Cornelius
