Language selection in dropdown menu

Is there a way to have a dropdown menu for language selection ??

Actually i'm working with localizer which allows unordered list in a block, but with more than 3 langs, it's place consuming.

I suppose it would need few lines of code which I can't obviously and unfortunately do !!

Thanks for any help

Website surfing structure?

Hello everyone, I'm the new guy and this is my first newbie question...

I'm planning a website (a city guide), which any user will contribute to and edit. The site will follow a specific surfing structure, and I would like to know if Drupal has this functionality, or if it can be modified to do so, in which case having an idea of how complex of a task this is would help plan everything.

The site is composed of only 4 categories, under each city. These are Places, Hotels, Dining, and Nightlife.

The structure is the following:

FRONTPAGE (welcome video, and a search box)
-----[The user searches for a "city name" only. Eg: Orlando, FL]

At this point the user decides what he wants to see in Orlando, FL. whether it'd be Places, Hotels, Dining or Nightlife.

He picks one category, and it will display a list of entries with thumbnail pictures, and now he can click on the final entry or article where he will find the entry description, contact information, etc.

So I guess a map would look like this:

------------------------FRONTPAGE------------------------
-----------------------------|-----------------------------
---------------------------CITY----------------------------
|--------------|-------------|--------------|--------------|
|--------------|-------------|--------------|--------------|

different emails to different roles while registration

Hi,
I have created a site having two different roles of users 'student' and 'recommender'.
I have used 'rolesignup' module to create users of these two roles.
Is it possible to have e-mail verification for recommender when they register themself and direct login for 'student'?
Can we send different emails two both types of users when they are registered.

Thanks in advance

Drupal 6 - Consistent variable names for filters

In the User section, you can set the message you want to send to users. It allows you to use some variables that will be filled in when the message is actually sent.

User Variable Options:
!username, !site, !password, !uri, !uri_brief, !mailto, !date, !login_uri, !edit_uri, !login_url

Under trigger / Actions (module - off by default)... they are this:
%author ,%site_name, %username, %node_url, %node_type, %title, %teaser, %body,

Is this on purpose or just tow different paths for different modules?

I am a teacher, how to keep track (logs) of lessons in a structured way

hello,

please help me thinking.

I would like to use Drupal in the following case.

"Save configuration as" and "Load configuration" on modules page

After a few Drupal updates I realized that I always ignored two "how to update Drupal" steps (always had luck, went well every time):

* Disable all contributed modules
* re-enable'em

Thats pretty annoying, I mean I have a site with ~40 Modules. I would have to make a 67 points checklist first and klick them all step by step.
