Wanted: Drupal Mentor / Sub Contractor

Project: Website redesign and production for Non-profit Organization.

Description: looking for a mentor for implementation of Website redesign within the Drupal content management system. I am a web designer and producer with fairly in-depth knowledge of web design and production techniques (XHTML, CSS and some javascript) and very basic working knowledge of PHP, phpMyAdmin, and Drupal. I have taken Lullabot’s Theming course (SF – October) and this is my first project using Drupal.

The website is for a non-profit that produces initiation weekends for young men ages 13 – 20. You can see their current website at www.ymuw.org. The redevelopment of their site will consist of two phases.

    Phase One:
  • Re-design and re-architecture of the site to allow for new content.
  • Re-brand the site visually.
  • Build the site based on Drupal to allow for the addition of interactive features.
    Phase Two:
  • Addition of eCommerce features such as on-line registrations and donations, and an on-line store.
  • Based on community feedback, addition of blogs, forums and perhaps eventually a chat room.

The Design has been completed and I have created a hybrid XHTML/CSS design template for both a two column and a three-column layout. While I should be able to theme the design within Drupal, I need a mentor who can:

Need a drupal expert to help with upgrade issue.

Botched an upgrade to 4.7.3. The content is still in the DB but some pages show up
as blank.

How Do You address potential client's security concerns?--

Hi!

I hope this is the right place for this. I have just presented a demo of my first (hopefully) paid Drupal site last night to the potential customer. Well--let's just say I learned Many Many things last night, and things could have gone better, but they didn't completely shoot me down. They did leave me with a question to answer for them tho.

There is one committee member (I hate committees) who is concerned about SECURITY on the site. Just kept asking over and over again, "What about security?" ---I swear if I didn't all ready know the guy is a weirdo.....Couldn;t tell him what I wanted to. I felt like telling him--come on, credit card companies are getting hacked, and you're worried about someone getting your address or finding out when practice is? Don't you know your life story is online right now?

This site www.jaspercountyrecreation.com is a county recreation department site and will have team rosters, schedules and stuff like that. I have the registration set up requiring full Real World info for security, ironically enough (name, address, phone #) but hidden to all but registered members. And I have it set up ( I think) so that only group members can see schedule specifics--other than public events. And team pages require invitations (kid's sports) or at least moderation for user signup.

**Note: This is a very small community and everyone knows where everyone lives and what they ate for dinner last night all ready--shoot, everyone's related.

I need a consultant and a programmer to help with launch!

I have a site built and running at www.komublog.com I am now in need of some advice for modules and how to use them to meet our needs as wel as someone versed enough to help with programming it to make everything work they way we need it.

Drupal is such an awesome platform and so easy to use, but it's time we get some real help before we try to launch.

Please let me know if interested, I'd love to be able to use someone from the boards!

New drupal project

I am currently in the process of finalizing an e-commerce design that will be implemented using x-cart. I already have a developer that will be working on that part of the project. While the site will mainly be a store, it will link off to another site that will be content oriented. I want to use drupal to run the second site.

The second site would need to have the same header and footer as the x-cart site (at least as far as look and feel and the link behavior) in order to have a seamless visual / user experience. Users should not know they've left one site and entered another, so theme/skin quality will be top priority (designs will be provided).

For phase 1, aside from the theme/skin work, I would like to have some simple integration with x-cart. The x-cart design uses a traditional e-commerce login that requests an email and password for credentials. I would like these credentials used to log users in and out of drupal also.

Additionally, phase 1 will focus only on getting articles setup (no blogs, forums, etc. -- at least not yet). Though it would be nice to have a voting system like www.netscape.com -- but not mission critical.

The only users that will post articles will be admins. General users will only be allowed to post comments about the articles at this time.

That's the project in a nutshell. If you're curious about the design and what's involved with the theme/skin work, send me a private message and I'll email you a few screen shots.
