Administer "own" comments

How do I enable users (with their own blog) to administer the comments to their blog entries only, thus not the nodes of other users. Because when I give user A "administer comment" rights. He can also administer comments posted to blog entroes from user B and I don't wan't that. Is this possible or do I need to continue rewriting the comment module (I don't mind doing that, but with 4.7 coming out and me not getting the hang of using CVS, don't want to waste my time in something that has already be done/already possible).

are freetagging 'related' enhancements in the works?

Let me start by saying I love tags. Specifically, I love awTags. It's easy to use and gives great "related" blocks.

However, after looking through the code with the form updater module, it seems that upgrading awTags to 4.7 is going to be, well, a bitch. There were a couple dozen form api changes that need to be made, and that's not counting the other upgrade changes. Right now I'm not up to upgrading it, and I'm not sure if AutoWitch is going to, either. (Fingers crossed, though.)

My PHPTemplate learning experience -- Part 2

This topic has started because I can no longer navigate through the confusion that transpired in this topic.

Okay, so I've taken the time to learn a little bit about the way that PHPTemplate works. And I like it. Based on our previous discussion, it really does allow me full control over the content in my site and the way it is marked up and displayed.

Topics and Forums -- Subjective Issues

Hi everyone.

I have a small issue with the way the forums on the site work.

Firstly, I should point out that I have learned more in three days by starting a discussion topic that would generate feedback, than I learned in four weeks of using drupal and the handbooks. My issue is that, as a newbie, as soon as my feedback stops, my learning curve becomes alot steeper. The way that the forums are structured is not conducive to lots of replies or feedback. As soon as the topic grows to a certain size, and replies to many others' replies, people stop responding. It seems there is a direct connection between the organization of the topic and the interest level of the reader. Is there a way to organize these sorts of topics in a way that promotes a more collaborative learning enviornment?

This is just one idea... maybe it would be easier if readers were able to create sub-topics within the topic itself and then the titles or replies within the sub-topic along with teasers were displayed in a block next to the sub-topic, allowing the reader to navigate through a much shorter page. Also, clicking the "replies" in the subtopics could open the link in a new, smaller window so that the reader could quickly decern whether the info contained within was applicable to their question and navigate back to the corresponding topic. The subtopics could be contained in themed containers that made the titles "pop." Topics could also be cross-referenced with sub-topics from other topics.

Insert data from array in database

Hi,

I'm totaly new to Drupal and PHP. I'm trying to follow and expand the example_node code just to get to know PHP and Drupal. I've struggled a few day to figure out how to insert data from the new multidimensional form array into my database. Here's what I've got.

Installing mySQL in Windows XP

I'm new to CMS and mySQL, having never worked with anything other than static webpages.

I've followed instructions in the documentations in the installation chapter, and have uploaded Drupal's files into my web server via a free FTP software.

Now, I'm not too sure when it comes to installation of the database - mySQL database. I'm not too sure whether one's supposed to download and install mySQL on one's local machine, or have to upload it into my server space.
