Submitting Forms (4.7)

Hi all,

Just trying to get form submission working in 4.7, and reading the quick start guide it says this...

Any forms which are submitted from a button of type => 'submit' will be passed to their corresponding submit function if it is available. This method is more secure than grabbing $_POST['edit'] and using a switch statement.

tinyMCE for 4.7.0 does not work?

I was very happy to see that the tinyMCE module is avaible for 4.7.0 now. I have 4.7.0 beta 3 on my machine. I downloaded tinymce4.7.0.zip. After I unzipped it, I noticed that the tinyMCE folder only contains a "po" folder and the LICENSE.txt. Just as I expected, after I unzipped the file to modules folder, the tinyMCE modules did not show up. The previous version, 4.6.5. has tinymce.mysql, tinymce.pgsql, and tinymce.module and a plugins folder. Then I tried to copy tinymce.mysql, tinymce.pgsql, and tinymce.module and a plugins folder from 4.6.5 to 4.7.0's tinyMCE modules folder.

node_submit no longer returns $nid - 4.7

originally posted in "book" re: how to upgrade modules from 4.6 to 4.7; but not sure what visibility that gets so thought i would re-post here

===================================

I am a little new at this so bare with me...

...but i have read through the node changes listed above and i don't see where it is mentioned that node_submit() now returns $node where in 4.6 it returned $nide->nid

node_submit also doesnt seem to do a validation anymore????

or perhaps i should not be using node_submit now???

getting round host mbstring.http_input problems on 4.7

Ok... i'm accepting that it is impossible to disable the mbstring.http_input on my host, the php being loaded as cgi, and not an apache module, so nothing i can do about it :'(

But... is there anything that can be done about it in Drupal? Does it need to prevent this being enabled? 4.6 runs just fine.

Any suggestions?

Errors I don't understand

Sorry guys...I just keep struggling. I think I have read twice now the documentation but either I'm not understanding or drupal is too complex for me. I hope you can help.

I went into setting and saw the follwing error

Settings
The directory /home/vdeck/tmp is not writable

During installation I did create a folder called "files" and did a CHMOD of 777

I tried to change the path to: /public_html/online-dating-rights-com/files

but got another error saying it wasn't available. However, I checked and it is there.

Next I noticed the following under administrator and though these may become an issue also with learning drupal.

Under Administrator

file system 02/07/2006 - 19:42 The directory /home/vdeck/tmp is not writable, ... steve
php 02/07/2006 - 19:29 mkdir(/public_html/online-dating-rights-com/files): No ... steve
file system 02/07/2006 - 19:29 The directory /home/vdeck/tmp is not writable, ... steve
php 02/07/2006 - 19:27 mkdir(http://www.online-dating-rights.com/files): No ... steve
php 02/07/2006 - 19:26 mkdir(http://www.online-dating-rights.con/files): No ... steve
file system 02/07/2006 - 19:22 The directory /home/vdeck/tmp is not writable, ...

In some cases above, the path confuses me. Why /home/vdec/tmp and not home/public_html/online-dating-rights-com/files.

sorry again, hopefully someone can explain in terms I can understand.

Request for additional custom visibility settings for Blocks in 4.7

Besides the three current options, it would be useful to have a "anonymous only" and "authenticed only" custom visibility setting for Blocks in 4.7.

Please concider this.
