I'm running IIS 6 and Drupal 4.7.6. Drupal can connect to the database just fine, but only index.php loads. When I try to load a node, it just renders the front page. I can't even get to the log in page. Has this happened to anyone else?

Currently it displays items in alphabetical order and I would like to change it to "new to old". How do I do it? Any help would be really appreciated.

I am looking to create a custom search form for my site where a user would enter a stock ticker and be taken directly to the node for that ticker. If a node doesn't exist the user would be taken to a content creation page.
My stock info is all set up via CCK and ticker is a field item. It would seem possible to create a db_query where the operator is the form entry. I haven't the slightest idea how to code this despite my searching for the past 5 days. Can someone help?
