Drupal 4.7.x

In doing some stuff in preparation for a migration from 4.7 to 5.1 I've screwed up my production 4.7 site.

I'm getting these error messages:

Warning: imagegif() [function.imagegif]: Unable to open 'files/images/Teaching 1_Tree Planting 2.240.gif' for writing in /home/jrfjrf/public_html/includes/image.inc on line 315

Unable to create 240 image

"240" is the name of a custom image size I have created with image assist.

So I've just set up a 4.7 Drupal installation and I've uploaded about 50 modules to my modules directory.

I activated about 40 of them and now my modules page times out every time I try to load it. What's up? Also my site's running super slow.

Should I just start deleting modules? Turning them off doesn't seem to be helping.

Is it a database issue? Something else?

Also, if I delete a specific module from a directory while its "activated" does Drupal still "remember" the module as if its activated?

I'd like to create a teaser list view that collects the blog entries of a specific collection of authors (they all share the same role) into one area. I understand the basics of working with Views, which is the module I think I would do this in, but I don't see a simple way of setting a view to display only one kind of entry, or from authors under a specific role. Am I missing something? Any help would be much appreciated.

Suddenly my file attachment module returns an unintelligable error in a dialogue box instead of uploading a file. When I hit "attach" this comes back:

How can i hide or delete view, edit tab for a node for administrator?????

Actually i have created a node for admin which i don't want to be editable for administrator also.

I have many text fields as shown below...i have to set the tab order as i wish .here i need a horizontal tab order...i have two columns of text fields in total 20 fields.
