I want to see a Drupal sample being used as a blog.
I want to see how people setup Category & Dates (monthly thing).
I want to know if Drupal can come close to Wordpress.
(For now I think wordpress is superior)
I have read loads of posts on this subject, but can't find the answer. I have got past the Warning: ini_set() has been disabled for security reasons in..... problem is to comment out all the ini_set calls in settings.php. My VPS hosts only advise was; "You would need a VDS or Dedicated server to turn off safe mode. Usually there is a way to avoid using functions which are restricted. You may be able to find help on the Drupal web site." so there is no help comming from there. What effect is commenting all the ini_set's going to have? Are they necessary?
I am running the latest Drupal. I am using the forum module and set up 3 forums. How do I make them visible to non registered users? Anon users should only able to view, but not post.
Is this possible?
I am at /admin/user/access, but don't see a 'access forum' permission so I can check it for anonymous users.
we are using a plugin that bans IP ( deny host IP ) that does not appear to work.. so we harvest the IP's from drupals
access rules and place them in our root .htaccess.
I thought I'd post with those captured to date ( 5 weeks at the http://www.eaglesnest-2.net site ) to give some a head
start on blocking these moronic posters ( SPAMer or BOTSPAMers)
