I am looking at creating a organization structure in drupal that admin's of the site can assign different roles to users, such as president and vice-president. I would also like the capability to assign users to different committees or teams.
I have been looking at using OG but I have not found a way to visually display this information. Any ideas?
I'm not certain whether I need to create a trackhours.module or simply create custom page content. I think I need a module because certain submit actions will need to edit the database. Or, does it require a bit of both. At the bottom, I'll try to describe what I want to do. Please reply with which method you would use.
I read the Drupal module documentation and have used CCK once and Drupal Snippets a few times in page content. I have used Perl to write programs, so I am very familiar with mySQL queries and database normalization. I am brand new to PHP syntax.

I'm thinking it would be really convenient if there was a way for me to create a checklist of tasks that multiple users could check off. An example of how this could be used is when creating a new site for a client, we could create a list of tasks that need to be done before the site goes live, and every developer could check off their tasks after they are complete, so no duplicate work is attempted.
So, I'm wondering if there is already a module like this out there before I attempt to make one on my own. Does this seem like a worthwhile endeavor?
I just set up my new drupal website and now wondering why there is no Jabber-web client with "no authentication" plugin for drupal.
My Drupal setup has an ldap-server for userdata.
