Deprecated - Media and document management

Hey,

A few months ago I started on a site for a local pub and I started out by using Drupal and ran into trouble with my gallery I wanted to build up. My goal was to have lists of galleries that was generated automatic and used Lightbox for representation.

At first I used Brilliant Gallery, Lightbox V2 and Leightbox ( Non drupal ); I wanted to have links that generated a leightbox popup ( lightbox with text instead of images ) and I finally managed to make it work, it was alot of trouble because leightbox interfered with lightbox.
All that work didn't turn out good because it didn't look nice, the leightbox content was brilliant_gallery and brilliant popped up a lightbox frame and lightbox blinked alot when clicking to the next picture( interfering with leightbox gray frame I guess ).
Q: Someone has any idea of how to do it.. with a good result?
Q: My solution was wierd and time-consuming, is there a easy way to create a lightbox-popup with some text in it? Maybe it already exist, please comment!

Reset.. and a new try..
Instead of using leightbox I turned to popup, and I like the result (the backward-compability is not tested at all though). I changed a content-page and created some text in page.php.

1. Add this to a "gallery page" with input format PHP.

Anybody know how to get any of these "coverflow" like js going? Cannot get Imageflow going. Any help would be appreciated. Here's a link to it working outside of my Drupal site. http://www.cinemasaville.com/imageflow.html

Images & Videos (uploading, searching, attaching)

Hi, I am not a developer so please excuse the stupid question. My friend's Kaisa's best friend is in the middle of creating a very content heavy community site that has all kinds of life-style related information (finance, health, travel, how to life a good life style etc).
He was told he should use DRUPAL for this site which I assume will be very popular as it will also have some ecommerce features, membership, possibly events, bloqs, newsletters.
In addition to trying to decide what are the features he really MUST have and what he can add later to be smart and keep the site userfriendly my friend asked me a specific question about images.

She is a not a techy either so she explained this in 3 parts:
1. Drupal probably allows uploading/attaching images for member profiles what ever those are.
Can that feature be customized to allow certain sizes (several of them), captions on the pics and allow printing those out/send them out as eCards
2. could one possibly set up a search function next to some "idiom", "quotation" etc where the drupal site would search an approriate image (possibly paid image) from certain sources or any sources.
