Theme development

Hey,

I'm currently building a theme from scratch and for some reason I don't understand how styling Drupal template pages with CSS works.

The page.tpl.php code just, for some reason, wont be styled by the CSS stylesheet I create for it. Like for example I would create an html page and a corresponding CSS stylesheet. I would then convert the html page to .tpl.php and insert the numerous variables in order to get a properly displayed Drupal theme. But the only problem is that nothing is positioned correctly, no colors are presented and nothing is being styled properly.

I definitely see them when I use other themes. What am I missing?

There seems to be an issue with Explorer and the Fancy theme. The titles (both site header and nodes) are misssing. Instead you have an ugly box like there is a missing image . Anyone ever had this details.

I am working on re-formatting my forums and having trouble figuring out how to remove the cellspacing between table cells inside of the forums list. I want the list to neatly stack up against each other and as far as I can tell the table that contains this information has no class or id. Can anyone help?

Hi, please look at: http://ystoreclick.com/index.php you can see the banner at the top, well i need that banner on the main page but i need in other pages other banners any ideas on how could i archive this?
