I am creating a new bootstrap 3 theme and try to learn drupal 7 php logic a bit

so I added the following to my template.php to theme the read-more butten and the write new comment button

What is the purpose of hide($content) ? In a node content type TPL file If I remove the hide($content); line then the content still isnt rendered. From looking at the page as a user it seems to be exactly the same, so what is the purpose of this?

I am working with the openframework theme and context. I am looking for a menu module where it is possible to define different layouts for each menu. I tried tb-megamenu which only has one design for all menus on the same page. Then I tried superfish which didn't work with context. Maybe there is context with superfish or a jquery_update problem. I got an unrecoverable error. Anyway, I did a backup.

Is there a dropdown menu module which covers my case?
