OK. So my personal homepage is now (finally) powered by Drupal (4.5.1):

Nothing very special there, the theme is a slightly modified bluemarine, I'm using some contributed modules (poormanscron, dba, quotes, trip_search, weblink, image and some others) as well as a few custom blocks.

A site I developed for the band I'm in. It began based on built-from-scratch code (using the Smarty PHP template engine - http://smarty.php.net/) and a custom-built CMS, again written from scratch. I moved over to Drupal a couple of months ago.

Since yesterday Digitale Stad Eindhoven in the Netherlands is running Drupal. DSE is a non-profit regional platform founded exactly 10 years ago and provides all kinds of free Internet services to the local community. The user base consists of thousands of users but this is easily handled by Drupal. The code has been modified to accomodate our needs and for instance now uses a generic single sign on based on Averist. Feel free to have a look or create an account.

Pesky Spam emails!

We all get those pesky spam emails promising us millions of dollar, from a Bank Manager, a Lawyer, a Doctor, a Wife etc etc. The spammer asks for your assistance to help transfer secretly deposited funds from out of their country for which you will receive a bucket load of money.

Believe it or not, people are sucked in by these dangerous criminals every day. These scamming spammers have been guilty of fraud, theft, assault, kidnapping for ransom, rape and even murder! These criminals are known as 419ers, or Nigerian Advance Fee Fraudsters as the crime originated in the 1940's in Nigeria.

Worldwide, 419ers milk upwards of $5 billion dollars annually from their unsuspecting, albeit greedy, victims (in the 419ers derogatory terms, a “Mugu”). The latest scam to hit my spam-trap, disgustingly uses the Tsunami victims in an effort to milk money.

Mugu.Info is my small way of fighting back. I aim to provide a repository of useful information, such as law enforcement contacts, a lexicology, links, as well as my anti-scams to educate and entertain the wider community.

My initial implementation of classfivenews.com is up and running.

It has a custom theme that uses phptemplate, and a custom module for displaying a list of stories in short form (see the "old stories" link). There is still plenty of work needed on the site, but it is functional. I will be working on making the forums more active shortly.
