multimedia user group website

My first attempt at Drupal :-)
I was impressed how relatively painless the process was -- always a nice surprise!

Movie Review Site

I set up a movie review site for a client of mine using the drupal movie review module. Right now it's just a simple friendselectric theme with not too many changes. However, within a few weeks it should have a nice skin on it, maybe I'll even write image upload support for the movie review module (a la profile.module) if I have the time. Check it out, it already has a few small reviews on it :)

I just dumped my (personally developed) html site, did a lot of research, decided on a CMS package, and then decided to go with Drupal. Little challenges here and there, but I like it, and am glad that I went with it. I just started several days ago, stayed up long hours (can you spell impatience :) and have it fairly to my liking. Not done, by any means, but am happy for it as a good start.

It's theme is Parrots (I've 6 of them, hence the domain name), along with webcams, several forums, a few games, and the chat.

We are DRUPALISTS - Learn Drupal from Drupal enthusiasts

Salam to all `Drupalists'

We are webmasters & designers who make use of Drupal CMS for various websites.

Several factors about Drupal that make us addicted:

1. The URL alias! This gives the feeling or actual `total control' of contents right down to the URL link.

2. The easy categorization of contents, again with the use of URL aliases. (You call it taxonomy)

3. There is no OBLIGATION whatsoever to refer our sites using Drupal! Non-Drupal users will not have an idea that any given site is running on Drupal unless we tell them.

Other CMSes - they ask us to retain that footer copyright thing. Some CMS like Xoops doesn't even allow some major links to its sites to be removed from its themes.

4. SMALL yet POWERFUL inital setup of Drupal only requires about 1.9 MB and that's a lot of savings for small websites. PHP-Nuke for example require close to 23 MB and that does not include contents.

5. Its themes and appearance is easy to change if you are willing to do so with some knowledge of HTML. That also includes changing colors and texts.
