Introduction

Plugger is a completely free SaaS (Software as a Service) developed to manage business online. Today, you can use it to share contacts and files, and new modules are already being developed.

The Project

Plugger is a SaaS solution for small and medium enterprises, and freelance professionals who want a simple and easy platform to fully administer their business with confidence.

The project foresees packages of features that will be incorporated as they are developed, so we can build a user base and familiarize them with the tool, reducing the initial complexity of use.

The Solution

To release the software as planned, it was essential to choose a development framework that would allow us installing new features quickly and easily.

Now, this does not seem to make much sense, but the choice of Drupal was not so simple. Two reasons in particular led us to it: we already have an extensive experience with Drupal accumulated in years of development, and we believe this is an important initiative for the Drupal community in Latin America.

So, the next decision involved which version of Drupal we would use. We opted for Drupal 7 to avoid a migration process and to explore the new features of the platform, and we were very pleased with it for several reasons:

Started our website for men from scratch in June 2009 with Endless News theme and no drupal knowledge. Think the site is coming along nicely and wanted to share with you guys. Drupal 7 is still lacking in stability, but its generally going in the right direction

I have started porting css and wordpress themes to Drupal 6.x, here.

I hope anyone reading this forum topic will have a look at the different theme ports and let me know what you think.
Things like, what is broken in certain browsers?

The redesign of our website was linked with a switch from Wordpress to drupal. It was important that the existing content would fit in well and that we could add many new features to present the content in a contemporary way.

A dynamic starting page with picture and text teasers, clarity in the reference section with different selection / navigation options, a design knowledge area, social bookmark recommendations and more.

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (www.sanbi.org) is the custodian of the National Botanical Gardens in South Africa, and is a respected authority in research in applied biodiversity science, climate change, conservation and systematic and collections expansion. SANBI reports to the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs for the South African government.

According to its mandate, SANBI is responsible for making information about its research programmes and national botanical gardens available to the public via its website. Additionally the Institute needs to advertise jobs, events, shops and venues, and keep information about the company and its partners up to date in line with government policy.
