The commercial Archive, switch from phpnuke, to postnuke and now Drupal

Hey.

I don't feel that anywhere near finished yet, there are so many things that I had in my site before the move that I'm moving over to drupal but I wanted to show this off in case there are others considering moving from postnuke - it is possible. Why Drupal? I love the way it has seemingly endless supply of modules and the community is actually active in helping each other. If I find myself stuck on a problem, I'll just search around and soon enough I'll find someone else who had the same or similar issue and from that I can learn to fix it.

Back in 2000 my site was created in phpnuke, and a few years later I got tired of upgrading that so I moved to Postnuke (Mutant 6.4 at the time, later 7.03) . While using postnuke I needed modules that did extra stuff, and with the help of a friend much smarter than I we got user-generated tags on clever url's like domain.com/tags/cat domains.com/tags/dog. We also five-star ratings, a page that collected the best and worst for each year, and pre-search pages showing ads from each country as well as trackbacks and other goodies. We had RSS feeds for every users ratings, comments and posts, and premium content available only to subscribers. The site was sectioned in adnews (with a page view for that) commercials (another view) and badland (another view) as well as having forums.

Hello all!

Just thought I'd share with you my drupal website. This is my second website that I've made with drupal and I've learned A LOT. I haven't jumped too much into custom modules yet, but that is my next step.

By the way, whoever wrote Contemplate, I love you.

Celbrity Gossip Site with Drupal and Leech

Rockstar Love Baby!

http://www.rockstarlove.com

I admit, it is not the most attractive site but I do love the header ;)

Built with leech, and drupal 5.1. I actually got the yahoo term plugin to work too.
It runs a cron job every 30 min. and the pages are cached for an hour.

I have a few cosmetic ideas but it is live now will be from now on.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers,

My Bad Life

I initially wanted to create an underground nightlife website but I don't know jack-doodly-squat about coding or anything else. My webmaster Matty from geminiigroup.com suggested I use drupal and I have been hooked ever since (January 2006). I was not able to pay attention to my site since last June but I got back on the wagon this March. Now I am truly happy.

Now I am not too sure what my site is going to be used for. I just enjoy having it.
