Writing Community.net

Got a new drupal site at Writing Community.net. Used the abac theme and some modules for the first time--riddler, akismet, spam, chatblock, fivestar, and a couple others. A pain, but it was a good learning experience.

AutoConcourse - user-driven automotive news and social networking

I recently launched my site and wanted to share it with the Drupal community.

AutoConcourse (http:www.autoconcourse.com) is a user-driven automotive news and social networking site for automotive enthusiasts. Topics covered include the OEM and aftermarket industries, motorsports, shows, events, and the latest photos and videos.

The site is catered to performance oriented enthusiasts, be they young drivers starting out with a sport compact car or older, affluent drivers with a stable of high end exotic cars. The common theme with these enthusiasts is that they want to remain up to date on the latest automotive news and love to customize and show off their cars, and AutoConcourse will empower them to do so.

Registered users can submit news and contribute to the editorial process by voting on content (a la Digg). They will also be able to create and maintain image galleries (garages), connect with friends and add them to a buddylist (network), and post comments to stories and user profiles (a la MySpace).

In the coming weeks, I'll be implementing a blogging feature in which the site will profile a car/driver and a business/tuner on a monthly basis, as well as allow businesses to submit requests for products to be featured.
