I'd like to invite you all to check out my Drupal installation for Play By Electronic Media Games (as in, role playing games) at http://LostCoastGaming.com. I wanted to bring Web 2.0 functionality to the old PBeM (Play By eMail) way of running games, which tends to be glacially slow, without resorting to games on a forum or blog. Drupal let me put all that functionality and more together to offer gamers a relatively new approach to running their games that doesn't involve computer-moderated play. As I like to say on the site, we're automating the storytelling, not the stories themselves.
It's Drupal 5.x, which I chose because it fits my preferences for creating things, whether they're role playing game scenarios or websites -- just give me the toolbox and let me do the rest. :) Drupal was mentioned in this regard and I must admit I've found it to be so -- the use of modules makes it an extremely flexible and powerful application. The clincher was the collaborative book function, however -- our gamers are going to be using these books to co-create their games/stories, presenting them to the rest of the community chapter by chapter, as they're completed.
I'm looking for constructive criticism, as well as suggestions and tips. The site isn't complete, I still have 6-7 weeks left. Right now the front page doesn't look quite right to me, however I'd still like the Introduction side panel. i.e. something like Drupal.org's front page might be nice, but I have no idea how to create it.
HI,
preputting that i'm a neophyte of drupal, i would want an aid in order to understand if is possible to realize this case.
I have two dictionaries in my taxonomy, first with one list of prefixed categories of single type (single hierarchy), and a second of freetagging types.
When I create a new node I associate it at an element of the first single hierarchy category and a second in the freetagging category.
The Pelly Clinic @ www.thepellyclinic.ca is a small, simple Drupal site that I made for a friend. At The Pelly Clinic, they provide their practice members with the highest levels of chiropractic care available today.
We've been with Drupal for several years and I just made the leap to 5.0. I must say, the upgrade was absolutely painless and the Garland theme is a big hit with my users. Thanks to the whole team for such great work!
I am a fairly new Drupal user. I just finished putting together the DC for Obama site on Drupal. It was a breeze compared to the work I did trying to put a site together using Joomla. I am going to be playing around with Organic Groups as a tool for political organizing, so stay tuned. I will fill you all in.
Question, does anyone know what happened with the Citizen Speak module? Why wasnt there a version developed for Drupal 5?
