Post installation

is there is a way to make front-page not to show 'promoted' nodes but to show nodes binded to some taxonomy term.
For example i have term 'MAIN' in my 'MYSITE' vocabulary and i want to show nodes binded to 'MAIN' term when client go with "http://www.mysite.com/" URL.
May be there is module for this issue?

How can I show block on firs page only? There is no problem with further nodes, but first (start, home) page. Just can't get how to do this.

i want to create a list ( real estate objects ) like the release list here on drupal.org but i must have a thumbnail image and a full image field.

another example is the recipe modul. something like that. There must be text fields - image fields etc.

What can i do to get these ?

I was wondering whether a normal user (authenticated but not Administrator ) can change the color of web site ? I mean can he/she choose the color of display ?

My apologies if this has already been covered but I didn't find it with a curosry search. I've tried to install the image.module (image galleries) in 4.4.0 (it's the 4.3.0 image.module, does that matter?) and it's not working. I've followed the install instructions to the letter but when I check admin/images all I see is a blank screen, no site theme, no menus in the coloumn, just a blank white page.
