Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Latest Comments module - formatting question

I am using the latest comments module as described here: http://drupal.org/node/view/4587#comment-11369

You can see the output in the "latest comments" block here: www.ceslit.org

If you look at the source of the webpage you will see that there are P tags around the comment title, which makes the block take up more room and doesn't look so nice. I want to remove them but I can't figure out where they are coming from. Can anyone help...?

How to seperate Forum topics?

Hi everyone,

I can't seem to create the seperator between Forum Topics a la the Drupal site, which has 'General', 'Support', 'Development' etc seperators. When I create the Forum vocabulary the root terms each become forum topics in their own right that can be posted to! Tried creating several Forum vocabularies but only the first one is picked up. Any advice appreciated.

Marcus.

Display information about the author with all his stories

Hi all ;)

I'm planning to use drupal for a journal like site. I have accomplished most of my todos, but this one gives my some headaches.

I need to display information about the author right in the full view of a story. I don't need it for pages, blog entries and so on, just for stories.

This should look like it does over at Boxes and Arrow. Look at the bottom of an article, and you will see a little 'box' with some text about the author.

Beefing up the forums?

The forum module that comes with Drupal is rather basic. It doesn't appear to support things like avatars, rankings, or any of the more glitzy forum features that people have come to expect from other solutions like phpBB. Unfortunately, Drupal's user database doesn't integrate with third-party forum solutions, and I haven't found a better CMS that does, so I'm wondering if there's a way to add these features to the forums. What's more, I'd like to be able to give the forums a special layout that does not necessarily match that of comments to articles or blog entries.

Incorrect URL

Ok well i know what should fix this problem, but i also know that it doesnt. For some reason my site doesnt use index.php as defualt index. When i do things the URL is just http://www.mysite//?q=etc.... where there are 2 slashes // instead of /index.php/ Now this is causing a lot of problems because i am forced to put index.php into the URL manually everytime i want to change or add something.
