Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Sections on a web site

We are building a web site and I am stuck on one point.

Our customer wants a number of different sections each with a different header and a menu for each to be shown to the user. How do we change the layout of the page based on where in the site the user is? Also how do we have static pages show up on menus?

Thanks

Primary and secondary links not showing

I'm using the Kubrick theme, and for some reason when I type in the primary and secondary links in the theme configuration, only the last link I add will show up at the top. Does anyone have any tips for me on how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problems with content submission

In the past 24hrs I have added img_assist module and and inline.module(cvs) in an effort to add inline images to posts.

I have disabled and removed the inline module as It didnt seem to wnat to play the game and img_assist performing beyond expectation.

Nested URL Rewriting

I'm have a rewrite rule set up in my webserver's root directory that rewrites all traffic to www.example.com to my drupal root, www.example.com/example/. I'm having a difficult time get the clean urls rewrite code to work. Is this even possibile? Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks.

Here is the code snippet that is in the root .htaccess file:

Select category when addming image??

I've got the image module activated and can "Add an image" from the menu. I've got a few image categories created. However, when I try to add an image there is no category to select from. You can upload an image but as far as I can see that image is just in limbo associated with nothing. What am I missing here? Visiting the gallery shows me the categories with zeroe images and no ability to "upload" an image. All my directories are properly chmodded.

Also, is there a method to show a members uploaded photos in the profile page? I am using the phptemplate engine and have a decent start on overiding the profile page. It seems to me there has to be a way to display the users last 5 uploaded image thumbmails in the profile page using phptememplate.

Drupal looks great but I'm so damn confused. I've been a static html designer for years and have only a small grasp of PHP. It seems you need a fair amount of experience with php too do even the smallest customizations.

Since I am ranting, is it possible (using phptemplate engine) to display the online users by avatar on the front page outside of the block? Also, is it possible to show the last 10 or so blog posts by title only?

So many questions.. so much confusion. Like I said earlier, drupal looks fantastic but seems to tailor to those who have a great grasp of PHP already if you want to actually customize it to feet your specific needs.

Organize pages by weight

Hi-

I could have sworn that this was easily possible, but it's not working for me for some reason. Check out our site, and look at the drop down menu's at the top.

Those come from the following code...
