How can I change the forum module to point to another subdirectory besides forum?

I've written some spidering phpcode to grab data I want to import as nodes (with things like a large number of fields and location data)

Yes, I could write the phpcode to save everything to CSV, and then use an existing node import module, but I'd rather do just one step, and allow the possiblity of 'updating' based on a unique field, even updating spidered data when a node is directly accessed to see if it's current or expired, etc...

What is the best method for doing this?

Background
I want to back up my site to another server both because i need to upgrade the site to 4.6.3 from 4.6 and because i want to use the skeleton I have developed for my first site for another project and much of the work is recorded in the database--not the drupal files (except for the theme development). I don't know much about command line interfaces and type commands very poorly so i am using cpanel, fantastico and phpmyadmin.

Both servers provide a fantastico script that will install a new drupal installation with two clicks and which sets up the basic drupal database.

My plan is
1. set up a clean 4.6.3 install of drupal with no modules at backup site
2. export the original site using the export function in phpmyadmin
3. import the resulting sql file into the backup database
4. copy the drupal files (modules, themes, files etc) into the backup
5. Not delete the settings file in the backup site so that it continues to point to the backup database not the original one
6. upgrade from 4.6 to 4.6.3 on original site.

My thinking is that i will be left with a verified back up, a clone ready for divergent development, and two upgraded sites.

my problems
--I don't know how to import the resulting 2.3 mb file into the back up database using phpmyadmin
--i don't know if this procedure will result in valid functioning of the modules in cases where a trable was created in the dbase.

I have created several flexinode content types: events, meeting agendas, etc. They're working great except that unless you're an administrator, you cannot comment on them, which is a problem.

I'm trying to figure out how to list all the entries/posts of a particular user for a certain content type (specifically flexinode content types) such as the blog content type does -- that is, mysite.com/blog/100 lists all the blog entries for user 100.

Toward this end,

1) I want to know if you can list all the posts of a particular user for a particular flexinode content type.
2)You can list all the posts of a particular user for a particular taxonomy term.

Hello all,

May be I missed it, but is there a way to set up drupal so the only thing on the home page is the entries in 1 specific blog? No users blogs, no forum stuff, nothing, just a specific users blog?
