Post installation

I loaded the CVS version of the nodewords module because I want to enter a general description for the site. On the nodewords "setting" form I see a checkbox "use teaser if description is empty" but I don't see a text area for the description.

Am I missing something or is it that I just don't understand how this form works? Am I able to enter a description for the site?? Where does the description get entered?

Ok for example look at one of my old static html pages, http://www.zmwilliams.com/field.htm , ok now on that page i have a site wide navigation and then i have a section specific link section on taht page, that only shows links relevant to that area of the webpage.

as it is now i dont see a way to have links posted on the right or left of a website using drupal,

i have all of the modules activated,

First question: What is "drupal path" for the menu item?

Second question: How to generate a page to link to a menu item?

I really really appreciate if anyone could help on this. I am trying two days by now, but couldn't figure out.

Has anyone had any experience using a secure server for the user login page?

I am setting up an LDAP connection to another server for one of my clients, and they are worried that the usernames/passwords could be sniffed.

Can I set a max number of posted items that can be shown on the default front page, or is it going to continue to get larger with more pic,blog,forum,etc. posts? Ideally, it'd work like a queue, showing the most recent 5 posts.

The poll module in my recent test installation is erratic about giving users the opportunity to vote.

Is it using the IP number to exclude multiple votes?

(Creating another user on a different computer on the network might give the user a "Vote" button, but only one time if it does at all--the next time the screen is refreshed, the Vote button disappears.)
