How do I make book-like collapsable site structure menu, based on taxonomy?

Menu, showed by taxonomy_dhtml module have right structure, but not collapsable (it must be uncomfortable on sites with large structure).

Menu, showed by taxonomy_context module looks right, but it doesn't show root items and dissappear on non-content pages (like administer or search page).

I want to see menu with structure like in book module, and I want to see it on all site pages.

I have the picture upload feature on for users, however, not all of them have pictures. Is there anyway I could put up a default picture for those who don't have one? Thanks.

does anyone know any place where i can get the taxonomy tutorials from so that i can understand how can i use it
coz i tried the handbook and it is really confusing to figure out how to do it
i just want to catogrise all my videos on one node so that the user dont have to go to too many pages can some please help!
