Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Session ID's and search engines.

Howdy. My test site has been indexed by a few search engines. The URL always has a session ID at the end. From what I've read, that can be bad if the same page has several session IDs. Also, I worry about the session ID table getting swamped. Why do I need session IDs? Is there anyway to hide them from crawlers or turn them off all together without compromising the usability of my site?

Thanks in advance,
Rachel N.

Menu items behavior

Hi,

Webcalendar login

Hi Folks,

I installed the webcalendar software and everything worked fine.

Well except, I have the webcalendar login screen and when I try to login, it shows the message 'Redirecting to ... here' in the upper left and brings me right back to the webcalendar login screen.
This battle goes on and on and I end up getting frustrated.

I placed the webcalendar folder in the root folder.

I searched and read most of the posts on rewrite and redirect, but I am not exactly sure if this is what I need to edit.

Any help would be appreciated.

General Help - Where can I place nodes?

I have just started using drupal and feel good about the small strides I have made. Whenever I add a node as a page, poll, or etc I am able to place that node based on its weight on the front page. So I can have all my nodes listed horizontally on my front page if I want.

However what if I only want two pages (nodes) on my front page, and then I want to have a second webpage that has two noes. In other words can I create another page like my front page is just won't be on the front of my site. Sorry if this sounds confusing.

File Request settings -> "You are not authorized to access this page."

I am not authorized it says when I try to edit the settings. File Request doesn't appear under Access Control but I given myself access to everything else.

Role based node behavior

Dear All,

I'd like fine tune 2 features according to the role of the node creator (the author).

1) display the author's name and the date for some author's roles and display the date only when the node has been created by users having other roles.

2) for the same kind of node, either force the moderation queue or force direct publishing (no user choice).

TIA
