Post installation

I'm having trouble installing the modules.

I download it, put it into My Documents, upload it to my database in the right folder, and...nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?

And, just to check, which folder DO I upload it to...?

How can I get Drupal to pull a feed and display each item in chronological order on the front page within it's own category?

Can someone explain this error to me? I have a drupal 4.6 site up and running, and from what I can see it runs great, but every now and then I get errors like this in the error log:

"The Drupal handbooks offer a complete reference for those interested in Drupal, both novice and experienced Drupal administrators, Drupal users and Drupal developers." Boy that is leading with the chin :-D

Ok so where can i find getting-started-style documentation for my Drupal users please? For example:
how to use the search function
what blocks are and how to turn the optional ones off
different types of contetn and how to create them
what it is you are seeing with all the nodes on the front page

Does anyone know how to add stuff like a custom image/images, custom text, etc to the rss feeds which come from various areas of a drupal site?

I'll give a specific example of what I am hoping to be able to achieve.

In fact, I'd like to get rid of "you can't post comments" strings when the people are not allowed to post comments.
