Post installation

I'm building a site that will include quite a few documents prepared by outside parties- whitepapers, reports, and other documents in PDF or doc formats. I'd like that content to be available as a high-level type at the same level as pages or stories. As a relative newcomer to Drupal, i'm suprised there is no 'file' content type that is simply a title, filename and binary stream representing the file. The closest thing appears to be using flexinode to create custom types. I thought it would be prudent to ask for better options from the community before I gave up on this.

A site has gone dysfunctional on me!

I'm getting this error

user error: Got error 28 from storage engine

I was adding an article before this came up. Now I have access denied to remove the article.

I thought I'd see if this rings a bell with anyone before I roll back to the last saved database.

I'm in the process of using flexinode to hold my content in various forms (news, news clipping, audio podcast, video podcast, etc.) and I've added in custom fields such as "image credits", and "news source": things that need not be in the RSS feed output. Is there anyway I can control what get's included in the output?

two questions about taxonomy_context module:

1) i use taxonomy_context to have context sensitive blocks for nodes belonging to specific terms of one vocabulary. the point is that the vocabulary name is displayed as block title. i'd like to have the term displayed instead.

i guess i have to modify taxonomy_context.module but i don't master php.

2) does taxonomy_context block display ALL term nodes, or just the promoted ones? (i have a fresh install) any way to make it display just the last nodes belonging to that specific term?

Can anyone please confirm if I'm going in the right direction? I've been fighting for hours and not getting anywhere. [newbie]

I am trying to set up my user profiles so that they link on common words (eg interests) like on this Drupal web site, and throw up a list of other users with the same interest (or who live on the same street, etc). That is such a cool feature......

First time throttle got active. It's drupal version 4.6.6. Fine, worked as expected. But ...

Only throttled blocks came back on the screen. Modules were still off and kept off. No module that was marked as to be throttled came back online through the system. Just turning off throttle (Zero Zero) made the things come back.

Is that a feature, that modules are still off an hour after the throttle event. Or is it an error? Of course, user counts are back normal.
