Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Blank pages again

I use Drupal 4.7 rc3 and project module from CVS. I see only blank page at /project/issues/user and some others, /project page works fine, and on page /project/issues/search search doesn't work: there is no reaction when I press button "Search". I can also add that there are no error and warning messages just blank page. I think that it is a server configuration problem because on local version al works fine... but I have no idea whay it doesn't work on server.

How can i fix it?

Hide a block when clicking certain taxonomy terms

I have checked around trying to find an answer to what seems like a simple problem but haven't found an answer yet.

I have to blocks which can be called A and B. They have their own menu systems manually built from both taxonomy terms and also individual nodes. There's only one link from each of the blocks referring to the other block.
1) Is there an easy way to hide block B when a visitor "surfs" around in block A and vice versa?
2) Are there maybe better methods for doing this eg. using theme based taxonomy (which I'm not sure works for this) etc?

4.7 Profiles Fatal Error

I recently upgraded to 4.7 RC3 from 4.6.x. I discovered a new area where it seemed that I could enable a list of recent comments to be listsed in each user's Profile page and their own "My Account" page.

Now that I have enabled it, though, I am receiving a fatal error every time I try and access my 'My Account" page or *anyone's* profile:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: comment_title_list() in /home/brentras/public_html/dotcom/log/includes/common.inc(1149) : eval()'d code on line 11

venue and gig guide with band info and mp3 depository

Hi,

I am about to set up a new web site for a number of venues which cater for a particular style of music. Mainly we need a gig guide to those venues (and to related gigs at other venues) but we would also like to add features to make it work a bit like 'myspace' for the bands that play there, i.e. it will allow them to showcase mp3s, perhaps videos etc.

The reason I am posting is to a) document my progress as I go along (got a little php experience and set up a few drupal sites now, but that progress could still be slow :) and b) hoping that people with more experience in either drupal or php will help out with a few pointers that get me started in the right direction.

Please will the more senior forum members let me know if the posting would be more appropriate somewhere else, in any case, all comments are welcome, either sources for other info, php snippets, general observations, critical observations etc

Ok, here is where I am: I got a server with Plesk 7.5.4, mysql 3.23 and php 4.3
I got both drupal 4.6 and 4.7 installed in separate folders, I would really like to go with 4.7 if possible
Plesk does not run php 5 so that will not be on the cards for a while.

Functionality:

The 'gig guide' should consist of these elements:

an event: a band playing at a certain venue on a certain date

a gig: a number of events ranked according to main band, support, DJ slots

Post installation database content

When configuring the website, in administer ¦ settings there is an option to enable clean_url's. In the database table "variable" there are 2 new records with the following content:
clean_url_ok with value 'b:1;'
clean_url with value 's:1:"1";'

Are both required to enable clean_urls or is only one of them required? What is the meaning of each?

Furthermore, some table names are singular and others plural. Is there a design decision that governs which case it should be?

Thanks in advance

Is there a "best practices" for eCommerce configuration?

I'm at my wits' end trying to determine the best path for setting up--what I think is a simple problem--an eCommerce site.

Here is what I'd like to do:

  • I've got 150 images that I'd like to sell in four ways: as a card or as a matted print that comes in three different sizes
  • Payment is planned to be through PayPal
  • I don't need inventory control or expected shipping times

Should I...?
