I have been trying, without success, to turn off ordinary blocks while using Blockbar, i.e. the menu content I want is already being displayed in Blockbar, so now I want to turn off the other blocks as they are redundant. One of the screenshots presented with the module (http://mycivicsite.com/bluemarine.png) suggests that this is doable, if not the intended result, but disabling the block from the main block menu causes the blockbar blocks to lose whatever content it had formerly mirrored in the now deactivated block. Similarly, the option to hide the block by default or restrict display of it to something clever like block/* also disables the needed content from blockbar.
I feel like the guy whose car keys are chilling in the refrigerator, next to the mayonnaise; no doubt the solution is obvious and I will come to feel like a dummyhead for not having figured it out on my own.
Otherwise, its worth pointing out I've spent much of the past few weeks tinkering with the various, pre-release iterations of 4.7 and spent the majority of that time learning to use the new software, instead of troubleshooting it. As always, the core people have continued to identify The Right Thing and further improve on a Good Thing. And the contributors deserve some modest, pre-release applause as well, for simultaneously trying to keep their projects up to date as well as those who have already introduced new features intended to take advantage of 4.7.
