I'm new to MySql, and may have just broken my installation. On http://meetthegamer.com I deleted the column realm. Also, using simple_access, I produced the error that makes it so that no one can view any content. I caused the previous error while trying to fix the latter. Apparently, screaming and crying in frustration wont fix it. I tried that.
How do I get it back? When I was in the Menu portion of administration I deleted it thinking it would effect only the theme I was working with. How do I get it back though? I've attempted to create a new menu with the same name, i assumed this would not work and my assumption was correct. How do I get it back?
Sorry to post this "general" and undetermined title for this post.
I´ve been a while looking for an answer related to private and restricted uploaded files, and didn´t get the answer yet.
Not even at the IRC. Not here at the forums.
And I´m not the only one.
There have been several posts related to this stuff:
I´ve started some of those, and I´ve participated in some others.
None of them with a solution.
Please let me be clear, as my mother´s tongue isn´t english maybe I´m sounding angry, or complaining, or something like that. But it is NOT. I´m very grateful with Drupal community! I could happily set my site because of your help!
I just desperately need a solution for this. And didn´t find it yet.
I´m passing to Drupal the whole site of my company, and found that one special and very important issue is unsolved: I need the ability to upload private files, and public ones. I din´t saw that problem before. I thought that controlling node and block access was enough.
I've been chasing down a problem with Acidfree where certain files would cause huge lists of errors. After three days of trying everything I can think of, I figured out that changing the permissions on the dir.lock file in the files/tmp/acidfree folder to 766 fixes the problem. But, I don't really know what that means, if I've opened up a security hole, or if this is something I need to change on the dir.lock files in other folders.
Can someone who understands the dir.lock file give me a rundown on what it does?
