Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Node owner and comments

Say I created content for Story node and commenting is allowed. Can Drupal be setup in such a way that I can delete comments on my content even though the comments are not mine?

The idea is, if spam or foul language is detected, I should be able to remove them. Note, I'm not the administrator, just a User who has permission to create content. Of course, if the content is not mine, I shouldn't be able to delete comments.

How to have small area of static text on front page along with blog area?

Sorry if this is answered a lot, I have searched the forums and have not found quite the right answer.

We are trying to convert our web site http://www.cis.uab.edu/ (not Drupal yet) to Drupal. On our Drupal test server, I am trying to replicate the behavior of the front page. I would like a small area of static text (the part where it says "The Department of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) is located....") above the blog area where all new content shows up.

Creating a multi-administrator CMS site

I have a very large site which has about 100 groups of nodes (pages) that can be edited by one specific user (one admin user to each group).

I want these users to be able to add stories to pages and remove them, but only to their own pages. I'm looking for something like:

administrative user001 (restricted to 10 specific nodes created in that user name) can add one or more stories to any of the ten pages, but not to any other page.

Capture search terms

I'm trying to figure out how to capture the search terms entered by users in the standard--and advanced--drupal search mechanism.

Why? I'm trying to create a module that will return ads based on the user's search keyword choices, like Google does.

I've made modules before, but I'm not sure where or how to capture those terms once the user clicks the search button.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Disable i18n results in errors for menu items/url aliases

I have Drupal 4.70 and among other modules "internationalization" (i18n) installed.
But when I disabled the i18n module none of my menu items worked anymore, not even the admin ones.
I had to set the i18n module active again by editing the system table using PHPmyAdmin to be able to acces the system again.
Then I disabled translation module, translations for all content types and i18nmenu module, but I have to keep i18n itself enabled.

Collaborative editing: restrict access to particular groups of users

Hi there,

My organization's technology division has been looking for some time for a CMS to run the department's intranet. We tried a few open source products, but have recently installed Drupal. We love it, and the response from our bosses has been quite positive.
