Post installation

Just got everything up and running. Was trying to configure AcidFree. Accidently downloaded and untar'd 4.6 version FileManager into Modules directory. After doing this when I went to the modules menu within drupal I got absolutley nothing, a blank white page. I removed the filemanager directory and still nothing. Am I going to have to reinstall drupal?

When trying to set the default timezone for my site it seems to be off. I'm in Wash DC, which is UTC - 5 hours. However right now, 10:30PM the value in the dropdown that equals 10:30 PM is -0400. (4 hours not 5)

I also have a problem with all of my calendar events starting 1 hour early (a 6pm event is listed as starting at 5pm. This actually seems like a reverse problem to the timezone problem above.

I checked and time on the server is correct. Does anyones have a clue what is goin on? This is driving me nuts.

Does any one know how i can set up a pop under window to open when my drupal site is started. I have html code that is to be put between the tags but i do not know where to find them.

Hi,

I'm having a little trouble with the installation of Drupalvb. When I try to enable the new blocks I get an error message that says 'can not connect.' I suspect that I have incorrectly edited drupalvb.inc. What lines do I need to edit? Any help would be really, REALLY appreciated.

p.s. If you could give the answer in a 'dummies' way (I'm a newbie) I'd appreciate that as well. :)

how to create "registration form" like the one on drupal.org?
other'n email and password... I want to add "user name" and "country"
which module should I use? I went through the list of modules but didn't catch anything.
