Post installation

I have my normal users set up with Authenticated User role. However, I am trying to add another role, called Under13. In this I have went and Denied Access to Forums & Comments.

Ex.
Permissions for 'under13'
I went to the 'Forums' area and clicked so it'd show it. I selected Deny for View, Update, Delete and unselected Create and List. I then saved. I made a test account and applied the Role to that account. I then logged on with it and still had the ability to go into forums, read them, and even post on them. Same for comments.

Something very funky going on.

I recently had several nodes "disappear" see http://drupal.org/node/73405.

Now I'm noticing that my main drupal folder is filling up with files like

core.26016
core.18363
core.30891
core.####

there are about 50 of them. some are between 30 and 31 MB, others are 0.

???

I'm using Drupal 4.7 with the Organic Groups module. I was adding and editing book pages to one of my og groups book modules. I made an update to the main "user handbook" that is set up by default when you create a new group, and all of the sudden all of the pages in the book are now giving me a "page not found" error.

one minute everything was fine. the next I've lost days worth of content. no error message, nothing.

For reasons that I don't understand I have to disable these commands in the main .htaccess file

# Set some options.
#Options -Indexes
#Options +FollowSymLinks

and these in the files directory

#Options None

Does anyone know what consequences this will have?

Hi all, i'm trying to theme a flexinode which I have enabled to act as a category using the category module. I'm familiar with theming flexinodes and have done that no problem. My problem is, I can theme the actual node itself, but I also want to be able to theme the way its children categories are displayed on the actual node page. Normally when I DONT theme the flexinode, when I view a node of that type, it just dumps the info of the node, then underneath creates links to its children categories (similar to a book). If I DO theme the flexinode (i.e.

Why would I want to do this you ask?
