Post installation

I've got the category module up and running. I've also got the category_views module installed (as well as Views module). I'm trying to get some listing views setup, but am running into problems. I've followed the instructions from the Category Module website docs on how to create a category_view.

Drupal while the learning curve is longer but it definitely has the best features and functionality and ease of installation

can anyone tell me how to prevent the "event" settings from printing the date on all nodes created?
Secondly, In drupal how to i optimize my pages for search engines?

I have a couple drupal sites running on our one server, one of them is very bandwidth intensive so it runs a bit slow. I investigated just to see if anything else was going on and I'm curious about this:

The top CPU usage goes to "/usr/bin/python /usr/bin/yum -y update" at 67.8%. I don't know much about this, but after doing a little searching it seems to be an updater for mysql. Does this have anything to do with drupal? Can I somehow rein this in a bit?

I would like to be able to aprove forum posts before they appear. I can do it with comments, but it does not work when somebody adds a new post in a forum.
