Post installation

Hi - I just installed 4.7 and somehow turned of posts being added to front page, even if slected to do so - can anyone suggest where the switch mnight be that is stopping them showing up ?

I know it seems dumb but I've looked everywhere!

none of my themes will show a logo even when it is turned on in theme conf. help please

I've got Drupal-4.6.5 on a server (server 1) and an application on another one (server 2).
For technical reasons, they can't be on the same server.

I'd need to recover the name of the user on the application (on server 2) but it doesn't work with this code :

     global $user;
     echo $user->name;

Do you have an idea how I could get it ?

Currently, if a node type is set to go into the moderation queue, the user can not see the item or make an edit until an administrator approves the post.

Is there a way to allow a user to see (and hopefully edit) an item while it is in the queue? I thought of using some of the taxonomy access mods, but that would then allow all users to see other items in the queue. I only want the user to see their own nodes.

I have installed simplenews for a client.

This works.

My client is a childrens charity who wishes to include images in the newsletters. I found some references by searching drupal.org for including images in simplenews. Including an example.

How ever I can't get these to work. Looking at the apache log files it appears the images are going to places being sent with the wrong paths. Yet I can follow the path to the image using a web browser.

Does anybody have a url to a simple howto for images in simplenews they know works?

I'm trying to find a way to change a nodes taxonomy term as an action in a workflow. Is there a simple snipplet that can be used to do this?

I'm sorry... I can't think of any more information to post about this question. I feel kind of bad posting such a short post.
