Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Flickr module and menus - avoiding "a photoset" title

So this isn't a question, but may help some folks who are playing around with the 4.6 version of the Flickr module. I'm running a site - well, my wedding site - and I want to specifically point to the Flickr photosets I want guests to see; so I don't make a link to the /flickr page that the module automatically creates, but I add menu items that link to the photosets (I prefer to show the thumbnails locally, so I copy the link from the /flickr page that says "view locally").

Well, when I first did it, I kept ketting two problems:
* My menu would collapse. I had a menu called "photos" that expanded with several links. Except when you clicked on a link, when it brought up the photoset, the "photos" menu would collapse.
* Those local pages - with the stacked thumbnails - would have a small title at the top called "a photoset".

Well, when I went back and edited the menu items, I had inadvertently copied the entire link URL, as opposed to the relative one (i.e. "http://weddingsite.com/flickr/setimages/123" as opposed to "flickr/setimages/123".) Once I changed the URL to a relative URL, my menus no longer collapsed, and the correct photoset title showed up.

I assume part of this is a menu issue, and part of this is how theFlickr module is coded. In any case, I just thoguth I'd sharein case someone looks forthis in the future. I don't really know where in bug issues I

problem uploading with SSL using IE

I'm having a problem uploading files with SSL using IE. The first attempt fails, but paging back and trying a second time succeeds. This does not occur without SSL. It also doesn't happen using Firefox.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, what's the workaround?

Best Nav Concept for Large Content Site

I currently use books to create an easily-followed navigation path. This works great when there are just a few child pages. However, in some areas, the site includes dozens of child pages, creating an extremely long menu, once each sub-menu is expanded. The question: what's the best way to create smaller, more easily digested book-based menus? (I've tried the category module and it currently is way too complex an undertaking.)

user warnings on various modules

I am a relative newbie. I have had a static html site -- http://www.youngwritersproject.org -- for a while and am now trying to create a new site using Drupal -- http://www.youngwritersproject.org/drupal. It seems that whenever I try to go to create content on a new module, I get a variety of red user warnings that usually tell me a certain table does not exist.

For instance, I am attempting to set up a daily content feature. (My first problem was in the taxonomy which kept telling me I had not chosen the necessary term even though there wasn't one. This kept the item from publishing. I created a term and then published.) When I published, I got a string of user warnings, here is the first:
user warning: Table 'youngwri_drpl1.daily' doesn't exist query: SELECT * from daily d,node n, term_node t WHERE d.vid = n.vid AND n.nid = t.nid AND d.date = '20060720' AND t.tid = 1 AND n.nid <> 0 in /home/youngwri/public_html/drupal/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 120.

Can some kind soul out there suggest what I am doing wrong. As I say, this has happened with a number of modules, book review, private messaging, movie review, etc.

Thanks so much.

FYI, the site is a unique project that helps kids in Vermont learn to write better. It is a collaboration between schools, newspapers, students and professional writers and it is growing. I run a non-profit organization and so don't have much money for Web help, but if there is anyone out there who wishes to offer more sustained help and think this is a worthy cause, I'd love to chat.

can't view downloaded themes

I have downloaded a few themes, unzipped them, and copied them to the themes folder. But when I go to administer themes, none of these new themes are available for configuring.

Please advice how to fix this problem.

Thanks.
