Post installation

For sometime now, I cannot enable new blocks, because I keep getting this error message => Validation error, please try again. If this error persists, please contact the site administrator
... whenever I try to save any changes. (I have 4.7.4)

How do I solve the problem? Could it be there's a fixed or limited number of block elements Drupal can accept? I currently have 19 and I want to add or est more.

I have a website which doesn't change very often (weekly updates) and I have page cache enabled with a 5 minute minimum cache lifetime.

Is there a way to set a 'maximum cache lifetime' or automatically clear the cache at regular intervals?

The reason I ask is that I have an event calendar block on the page which colours in the current day of the month. The problem is there are times that a cached page from a couple of days ago is shown, so every anonymous user effectively gets sent back in time!

Hello everyone.

I need to create a content type (with CCK) having a file upload as one of its fields. I installed the Filefield module, but it doesn't work right in my drupal installation. Is it possible that the module is still in its developing state? Anyway, I've noticed some strange behavior in it, so I was wondering if there is any alternative to it.

What I need is a CCK content type called "Resources" with 3 fields:

Title (text field)
Description (text field)
File (file field)

We want to be able to allow all staff in our organisation to be able to communicate with each other. However 80% of them have no fixed office, moving from room to room many rooms with PCs don't have telephones. We want to be able to offer them the opportunity to use IRC to contact the support departments via the intranet pages. However we want the support departments to be able to benefit from the advantages of full IRC clients rather than web based ones (flashing task bars, audio alerts, monitoring multiple rooms etc).

We are running Drupal on our intranet. I'd like to be able to authenticate users to the Drupal web pages based on their current windows user log in. Certain users (based on LDAP groups) will get access to certain content and the rest will only be able to access the general content. I want to cut out the step of logging them in so I can remove the login box as this is a barrier to some users (yeah I know!!!) and it will remove the temptation from the other users to try and log in by guessing an authorised users password.

I want to create a Yellow Pages Script (yes, I've searched the whole drupal site, but I didn't find the answers I was looking for). The main Yellow Pages site in Norway is "Gule Sider" (meaning "yellow pages") at www.gulesider.no, please see http://www.gulesider.no/gs/categoryList.c?q=biler as an example (this is a search for "cars" in Norwegian).

In this exact search for "biler" (search for cars/car firms) you'll see :

IN THE MAIN COLUMN
- in the top theres some ads (I could use phpMyAdmin to do this),
- then theres some paid listings WITH their logo/images (I will send invoices by snailmail, but it should be possible to order listings directly from my website)
- then paid listings WITHOUT logo/images
- then this search finds the most relevant firms with "biler" in their name
- at the

THE LEFT COLUMN
- a directory of various car firms (firms that sells tires, autodealers, car repair etc. etc.)

AT THE TOP
- a search box to search the entire site

So, I guess this would be difficult to accopplish using Drupal, but I also guess it would be possible, but don't have a clue how to do this.

I'd prefer just to buy a yellow pages script, but I have yet to find any good ones - most are outdated, poor code etc. Then there's Drupal, but this will take several months to do by myself, cannot affort to spend that much time on this project.
