Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Search Module - Displaying Results

Currently the search module is returning the body text. In my case it is ugly html text. I'd like to supress this from the users. I'd also like to put "metadata" for each page. So ideally, I type some descriptions for the page, and search brings back the title only (not the body text).

Thank you in advance.

Audio Module

I'm using the "audio" module. I ahve it installed properly and have imported one song, but I can't figure out how to use the flash player and embed it in an article.

As you can see there, it says "click to play". When you click that, you download some sort of weird file.

I want to embed the audio file in a review over that artist. Here:

Acidfree/Filemanager Question

I just did a fresh install with Filemanager (// $Id: filemanager.module,v 1.18.2.2 2006/11/19 02:35:21 drewish Exp $) and Acidfree (/* $Id: acidfree.module,v 1.62.2.59 2006/12/06 05:21:26 vhmauery Exp $ */) following the instructions closely. I set up 'public' and 'private' directories on my host. Drupal is set up in the root of the host. The Admin>Settings>File System setting is default 'files'; Filemanager is set up with 'public' and 'private' in the respective spots in fm settings. The test page yields no errors.

Private files dir - can't display image?

Hi,

New to Drupal and jumped right in with version 5 - what the heck :)

So, first of all I chose the private as opposed to public option for the upload/download file directory. This is set to :-
/home/rubicon2/pfc_drup_files
which is behind the webserver root of /home/rubicon2/www

Next, I admin'd the themes to use my own logo. I chose the upload image option, which then correctly ends up in my private files directory, outside of the web space.

 4 drwxrwxrwx 3 rubicon2 rubicon2 4096 Dec 18 00:39 ./
 4 drwx--x--x 14 rubicon2 rubicon2 4096 Dec 18 00:38 ../
 4 -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody nobody 93 Dec 17 14:07 .htaccess
12 -rw-rw-r-- 1 nobody nobody 9024 Dec 17 15:53 logo.jpg
 4 drwxrwxr-x 2 nobody nobody 4096 Dec 18 00:39 pictures/
root@vps [/home/rubicon2/www/pfc_board2/includes]#

All looks cool so far.

I've got that private dir chmod'd to 777 by the way.

If I then look at the webpage, the header url shows (incorrectly) as :-
http://www.rubiconcsl.com/pfc_board2//home/rubicon2/pfc_drup_files/logo.jpg

Have a look at http://www.rubiconcsl.com/pfc_board2 to see what I mean.

Why is it trying to serve the file from http://www.rubiconcsl.com/pfc_board2//home/rubicon2/pfc_drup_files?
Why is it tagging the server root in front of the filename?

Is it a .htaccess thing?

Ideas on a postcard please - or better still on

Inconsistent search indexing problem

I'm having an issue with my search index on both 4.6.10 and 4.7.4. The problem that I'm seeing is that some content is being indexed and others is not and I can't figure out what the difference is. I'm using the built in search facilities.

Exploding Menus, Navigation, Links (primary, secondary, etc.)

I have Drupal up and running (plan to use it for multi-user blog platform). My question has to do with Menus, navigation, links, etc.

What are secondary links? vs. parent child?

I was hoping either of these would be sort of like exploding navigation - but they only seem to either be exploded or not, and only in the 'primary links' that appear in the blocks - NOT the ones that are the primary navigation of the site (for me on the top right tabs - i am using nifty corners theme) - and, these top-nav primary links don't seem to have more than one state - e.g. they don't explode, aren't lit-up upon and afterward to indicate selection, etc.

It seems the primary links which form the top nav tabs should be separate. They seem to behave as one and the same (but not really, since they don't expand) as the 'primary links' which are in the sidebar blocks, etc. This seems to be the case with other themes as well. and the primary links which do expand, don't seem to on a rollover, but are either 'expanded' by setting (or not).

Is it possible to have exploding nav? Is there a module? Can Drupal do this on its own?

The demo of nifty corners: http://university.tamsui.org.tw/

has exploding elements in the left nav - but since I don't read Chinese (or have the charset, etc.), can't get much info on them. My nifty corners doesn't have this exploding left nav - but i want it!!
