Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Moving a Drupal 5 site to another host?

I've been testing out moving a Drupal 5 install to another host.

Generally, i usually do a sql dump of the DB upload the core files to the new host and export the DB. Then configure the settings. However, when i tried this with Drupal 5 everything was fine (ie, connected to DB) but it still seems broken, like there were missing CSS files. Checking some of the data stored in the DB, i noticed a lot of absolute paths were being used which were still pointing to the old site.

incorporating Last.FM charts into Profiles?

i made a new field in the profiles thingy for users to paste in the code from Last.FM so that their charts can be displayed in their profile page...

this lets people show various details, like what are their top "5" favourite bands or what songs they have been listening too etc etc....

now, it occured to me that one could do some really cool stuff with this... for instance, what if i asked for the users Last.FM username and then inserted a "standard" design for the chart, so that they all looked uniform? or so that i could then query various things... for example, if you post on the forum of our site, in your signature could be the last song you listened too or the top 3 songs you listened to recently etc etc...

and the best part is that the user wouldn't have to copy and past in the html code from Last.FM... they simply type in their username....

and we could even give them an option for what Last.FM data to display, perhaps a list of things they could check off...

like, yes - put my top 3 fave bands on my signature...

or no - don't list my top 10 songs i've listened to

or yes - list my fave bands on my profile page....

or yes, put a link to my Last.FM page in my signature etc etc etc....

for a Drupal music site this would be very very handy....

anyway, here is what my profile looks like now with the last.FM chart:

How to limit which users can see which forums?

Hi,

Is there a way to limit which users can see which forums? For example, our church has multiple forums for various committees and groups. I really don't want users from one group being able to post on the forum of another group. Is there a good way to limit this? Some users would be a part of multiple groups though.

Would the Organic groups module do what I need? I don't want users creating their own groups. I just want to limit what they can all see.

Drupal's multi-language site support is really bad.

I tried to create a bi-lingal website, after a lot search and questions, I still failed to do the following things:

1. translation of the site name, slogan. I tried the solution in http://drupal.org/node/67824, but obviously failed.

2. For pages prompted to the frontpage, only shows the proper language version, not both.

Translation of menus are not strait forward neither. I hope future drupal can be better.

Acidfree - how to replace an existing photo?

Is there any standard method to replace a photo, when using acidfree?

Other than deleting whole entry, and then recreating it, have not found any other way.
