Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

CSOD - Access denied though I am the admin

I am currently setting up a website using Civic Space On Demand. Though I am having no problem authoring web pages, and the system allows me to author blog posts, I get an "access denied" error when I try to create a poll or a forum topic. This is all in off line mode. I am the admin and account owner and logged in as such, so there should not be permissions issues.

republish link not showing up for forum posts

I installed the republish module and enabled the vocabulary for forums but when I post a forum topic, I don't see a link to republish this node. Perhaps I'm unclear about this but I thought it would allow a node to be duplicated with a new author? Anybody using this module successfully?

Advice on creating a new block

Ok, so I want to create a custom block that displays an image (book covers) and the published month and year. I want to order the covers so that any books this month are displayed first, then any covers in the future displayed second, and any covers published in the past last. And, I want to have a way for my users to add their own books without me intervening.

'Access denied' when creating new comments

A new Drupal site that I have built was running perfectly until it started showing "Access denied. You are not authorized to access this page" error pages when trying to add new comments to nodes. All users, even the admin user, experience this error. I can edit and update existing comments however I can not create new comments.

I am running taxonomy_access.module however on test sites this hasn't caused any trouble.

Displaying Links to Related Pages

Drupalers,

On a node page, I'd like titles/links to other nodes to appear that have been tagged with any of the same taxonomy terms of the currently displayed node -- either in a box on a sidebar or after the node contents.

Is this a task for the "Views" module? Some other module?

I'd appreciate it if someone could set me in the right direction.

Thank you,
