Upgrading Drupal

Hi all

Please could someone help me?

I am a non technical web developer (wouldn't even call myself such a title really).  I have created a website in drupal, but ever since the update at around 8.4.4 I have encountered errors when trying to make updates to the site.  The hosting provider is not helping at all!
The latest error message I receive (when I attempt to do anything on the site) is:

The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.

Hi,

I'm unable to update to above release via composer.

When I type composer update drupal/core-recommended --with-dependencies I get a message saying

I am just trying to update Drupal 7.78, but getting the error message

" Source database is Drupal version 8 but version 7 was selected. "

I'm new to drupal and was recently tasked with upgrading the drupal core version of one of our sites. I upgraded from v8.3 to 8.9.13 and everything went smooth enough until it came time to update the database. Here, I was told that two updates had failed as you can see below:

I used migrate module to convert my site from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8.9.x. The content types and contents got migrated correctly. However when I try to create a view using a specific content type, I am unable to see the fields. Explaining the steps i followed:
