Upgrading Drupal

It all started when I upgraded the site from 6.8 to 6.9. During that upgrade I also upgraded several modules. After bringing the site back online, I noticed that several user accounts were now missing their email address including both admin accounts (this includes the superadmin too). I went and reentered most of the missing email addresses and then notified the affected users.

Recently I just upgrade a drupal site to 6.9 and now when I go create and/or edit any content on my site I receive the following error:

warning: Missing argument 2 for node_access() in /home/...../public_html/modules/node/node.module on line 1977.

How would I go about removing this error?

I am also running the currently running all the updated recommended modules:
cck
views
panels
ctools
content_profile
print
webform

I want to use a module but its for drupal 5, but I have a found a patch to port the version 5 to version 6. But I dont know what to with the file. Ive read http://drupal.org/node/359234 but it doesnt help. I dont know what running the sheel command means. I realy dont know how to do this :[

The modules that deal with subscribers and HTML messages have always been the toughest for me to get running properly. An install it and forget it mail module has become my Holy Grail. Are any of the mail modules running smooth for you in Drupal 6?

Am totally new to this CMS, have already installed in my local machine,
But am not able to control the Design,Have installed a Theme of "Acquia" but unable to integrate my template there?

Want to know where to sore the images, javascript ,flash etc present in that template?

Any help for this problem acceptable
