Site Inaccessible: Call to Undefined function in install.inc while upgrading

I have been trying to upgrade to Drupal 6.16, and everything seemed to go okay until I ran update.php and got this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function drupal_system_listing() in /home/wicksig8/public_html/includes/install.inc on line 255

I downloaded install.inc again and replaced the file, but I'm getting the same error.

Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix it? Thanks :)

has anyone done it successfully?

I see a lot of posts about the troubles that people have had trying to do the upgrade to 6.16.

I had a complete crash of my installation when I tried to upgrade, and I've seen many other issues from small to big related to this upgrade.

After browsing through this site I found the usage statistics and realized that there are many people who don't even bother with upgrading their sites which makes sense if they want to avoid some of the issues in this forum.

favicon doesn't work after upgrade to 6.16

I recently upgraded from 6.15 6o 6.16 and have lost all ability to change or display default favicon. I rebuilt same site from database site on different server and am having the same problem. I've cleared site cache and browser cache about 50 times, and used 5 different computers to test using IE/FF and chrome.

so many updates?

I'm sort-of new to drupal...Not sure if anybody feels the same as me.. I only have one drupal site at the moment, but it feels like I have to upgrade every single week. and it takes such a long time.. What if i had 5/10 drupal sites? And, it's not only the drupal security updates, but also the modules and theme updates?
Is there ANY way to go around this?
Please lemme know. This really consumes alot of my time.?

Create a media archive?

Hi everyone!

I´m making a blog using Drupal and I´m doing some fast progress.
I got a problem though, a pretty big one, when I want to use a picture in a blog entry, I have to type in the "URL" of the picture.

Problem is that the picture does not have a URL yet, it´s on my computers harddrive! Since I´m using a localhost I guess that path would work for now, but not when the blog is on a real webserver.

5.22 update

i use a module which modifies the default publishing settings
after upgrading to 5.22 a blog entry with settings to published is still unpublished.

but after a user posts a blog entry with settings to published it creates the node with 'unpublished'.

does anybody know:
did the drupal 5.22 update include any changes to the node module?

if i take a look at CVS it doesnt seems so.
