Upgrading Drupal

My web hosting company just moved my account and website from a 32-bit to a new 64-bit server.

Everything functions fine for an outside user, but when I login, I am unable to access any admin pages ("Access Denied"). Even the logout action results in "Access Denied". Therefore I cannot administer the site.

The hosting company says they have not changed either PHP or MYSQL during the server move and I have definitely not changed anything on my Drupal 4.7.3 website.

When I upgraded Drupal 6.16 to 6.19 somehow admin/build/translate shows that english is empty and only my own language pack is installed. How can I restore english?

I recently copied my live 6.8 site to a local test environment using 6.19 so I can test module upgrades before going live with them. My problem is the commercial template i'm using is only compatible up to 6.14. My question is: If i leave my live site on 6.8 so my theme doesn't break... will the contributed modules still work ok when updated to their latest versions?... I don't want to spend a lot of time upgrading the contribs and adding newer functionality if it's not going to work with my theme.

After updating all my core files from 6.17 to 6.19 (not sites directory nor .htaccess) and uploading them I ran the update.php script where it just sat with an error on the page.

Okay, I am trying to upgrade from Drupal 5.23 to Drupal 6.19, and I cannot seem to do it. I've run into problem after problem, and not sure what's going on. Any help would be great. Here is what I have done:

• Upgrade Core from 5.x to 5.23.
• Upgrade all contrib modules to latest versions
• Disabled all contrib modules
• Installed 6.19 files
• Ran upgrade.php

i seem to have put my question in the wrong place. rather than on a bug report page i think it should be in a forum.

i'm trying to migrate from Drupal 5 to 6. the update.php didn't complete. i'm trying to login but i'm still in maintenance mode. unfortunately, when i try /?q=user or /?q=user/login, I get a 404 error.
