I am moving my current site from my current server to a new one. It seems like the perfect time to upgrade my 4.5 version of drupal to the 4.6 which all my other sites are running.
I am going to export then import the database and copy the other files across. Then comes the time to upgrade. My major concern is that I have installed allot of modues as the site was first used for testing then turned into a production site. I know not the best thing to do and now I regret it. My database has allot of waste in there. Any sugestions of the best way to remove all the waste?
I created a draft upgrade procedure for Drupal/Civicspace sites. Anyone want to comment on this? It might be useful in avoiding problems for Drupal upgrades as well. It is 3 pages long, and lays out 10 steps in full detail.
Also it might be nice to have a version specifically for Drupal. If someone sends me a draft I will post it.
Thought about posting an issue, but, I'm not sure if it is an issue - similar problems have been marked as "FIXED" for the event.module on here so I'm probably missing something very basic and I have spent a few hours trawling through the forum posts and found nothing...
Here's the skinny if anyone can help:
Just upgraded drupal from 4.5 to 4.6.2. and when I got to that point I tried upgrading the event.module using the event-upgrade.php file.
It gave no errors and indicated that if I didn't see any errors it means it worked.
Call me a nut - but i've been upgrading our 4.4 old drupal system to 4.5.
I took a theme I know works in 4.5.2 from another site of mine and plopped it into the 4.5.4 installation, yet the theme is really messed up on 4.5.4 - have I done something incredibly dumb, or is there a known issue with 4.5.4 ?
As always - feel free to shout and call me an idiot - it's a learning experience after all :)
Hi --
I think this was an upgrade problem because it worked in 4.6.1. When I upgraded to 4.6.2 I lost the ability to preview the full text of my content (forums, stories, etc.). I can see a preview of the trimmed version but the preview full version heading is only followed by two blank lines.
I just upgraded my Drupal 4.5.0 site to 4.6.2 following the upgrade instructions. Everything works fine except that (1) my images do not show and (2) my site navigation links (blogs, books, forums, image galleries, polls , etc.) have disappeared. I have installed the image and inage assist contrib modules and the system reports that the GD2 functions are available and operational but still no images will display -- even for newly posted images. The galleries and image names, etc are all there, just no images. Likewise, the navigation links have also disappeared. Any suggestions? Thx.
