Hey guys, I seem to have inherited a drupal 4.5.x system and I'm going to make a new skin for it but out of curtousy I'd like to upgrade their system to the new 4.7.2.
I went through the upgrade procedure directly to 4.7.2 and no cigar.
I get all the way to running update.php and it just sits there at a blank white page. I did go in and change the $access_check = FALSE;
I just upgraded to 4.7.2 from 4.6.5. Update.php failed a few times with "unrecoverable errors." Each time, I tried running update.php again. I know, it's not supposed to be run more than once, but I didn't know what else to do :-D And it did seem to work... until I got to update #178, which fails (no message, just "unspecified error") no matter how many times I run update.php. I guess that there are only 5 updates left, because the update fails at 20%.
Trying to upgrade from 4.6.5 to 4.7.2 on a test site (with a moderately large database) the update.php script fails at 74%.
I'm on an otherwise very stable Win2K computer running the latest EasyPHP distro. This bug shakes Windows to its roots, and after 3 failed attempts, mein EasyPHP ist kaputt and needs to be reinstalled!
Is this a memory problem? I closed all unnecessary apps beforehand.
(BTW I think I saw a similar post somewhere but cannot find it.)
