Upgrading Drupal

Hi, I've discovered some upgrade irregularities in my site. I've upgraded several times, from 4.6 to 4.7 to 5.0 and now to 5.1 and recently I've discovered some strange things happening on my site.

1) In several Admin screens when I click on a column header to sort a list (such as the Users list or the Referrers list) it does not sort correctly. In fact, it does not appear to sort at all.

2) When I type a URL into a page, it does not automatically become a hotlink.

When upgrading the banner module, from drupal4.6 to drupal5.x, the banner table is not upgrading.

Since I have upgraded, I keep seeing lots of 403 errors in my logs. These aren't supposed to be 403s though, but rather 404s for URLs that simply don't exist. I do have a custom 404 page which is accessible by anonymous users. This also seems to be the reason for my other problem, or at least would make finding the problem easier if I could rule it out.

So is there a reason why 403s appear in 5.1 for missing content?

I recently upgraded from 4.7.6 to 5.1, and everything works now, except for one small thing: I can't list taxonomy terms. A link to /taxonomy/vocabulary/2 returns a 403 page, as does any other vocabulary (or anything else under /taxonomy, for that matter). Listing nodes under terms in those taxonomies works fine. I haven't seen any access control options that might influence this, and have no clue where the problem might be. Any ideas?

On a semi-related note, the taxonomy project page returns the same error ;)

I recently upgraded a drupal site for my fraternity. I was not the one who setup the original site or server. I copied the files and db from an apache setup on ubuntu to a winserver 2003 setup with the latest php and msql.

By upgrading to 4.7, the sessions not sticking problems was fixed but I still have a few problems. I am very much new to Drupal, but not so much the realm of CMS's.

I am just looking to be pointed in the right direction so that I can fix my own problems, but I'll take any help I can get.

Currently I have a local setup of the live site-that is what i upgraded and is what I am working on getting to work before replacing the live site.

THE PROBLEM:

THE SMALLER PROBLEM:

Hi , as i am running two Drupal 5.1 separated sites time has come and a merge between those two sites is needed.
site number 1 most useful use is for creating content for i.e books, pages , etc...
site number 2 most useful use is for communication for i.e organic groups, forums etc...
i am looking for the best practice to accomplish the merge

any help is welcome
