Drupal 8.x

I have been trying to set up a simple multiple image preview (slide show).
I have installed all kings of modules, non of them works form me. (Slick, Blazy, Photoswipe, colorbox, Lightgallery)
From what I read many modules require jQuery. but new Drupal 8 have this pre installed! (like already installed! should I activate it? I watch some youtube videos, no luck )
I am missing something here, Please help

I'm going around in circles on this a little and need some help. Full disclosure - I posted this on Stackoverflow but got no hits.

Background ... I have a javascript (babylon.js) 3d application that uses html5 webgl canvas element. I would like to add this to my Drupal 8 site. I am new to Drupal but not to MVC and have spent several hours on the various drupal tutorials so I think get the (very) basics of module/theme development.

i got a problem with my navigation.js library, for admin, anonym user it works perfectly fine but when i log in to editor acc it is missing (not loaded in the DOM)

it is defined in mytheme.libraries.yml

navigation:
  version: 8.x-1.0
  js:
    scripts/navigation.js: {}
  dependencies:
  - core/jquery
  - core/jquery.once
