Drupal for Human Resource System

Hello Drupal Community,

I was asked by my boss to create an Human Resource system. We all know that Human Resource system is complex and has a lot of configurations. This includes payroll and timekeeping, performance management etc..

Now I am thinking of using Drupal or CodeIgniter.

CodeIgniter, I will have total control of the system. I have freedom and doesn't have to follow rules. And the database design is nice and easy to understand. But, it will take me a lot of time because I have to code from scratch.

Installed media but no types available (Drupal 8.5.2)

I've just installed the Media module on 8.5.2, having not used media before on any earlier versions.  I understood it was supposed to have some media types out of the box but there are none their.  Do I just need to use the modules for each media type?  What else do I need?  I want to be able to add media to content within a group, and media doesn't seem to be an entry on group permissions so I presume I just need to use a Media button on the submit content pages?  Do I need a media browser too?  It's very confusing!

Themes with Webshell

Hi All,

I am trying to install new themes, I have found a few nice themes such as base_zymphonies_theme-8.x-1.2.tar.gz, startupgrowth_lite-8.x-1.0.tar.gz and zircon-8.x-1.0-rc1.tar.gz. But, all of them come with webshell (VEXBECF.Webshell, VEXAF53.Webshell and VEX37CB.Webshell) after running a scan and detected by Bkav.

Are these theme safe to be used? Please advice.

custom fieldtype with taxonomy dropdown?

I'm finally starting to get somewhere on how to make custom fields..

I'm curious though how I add in a field that pulls from an existing taxonomy field.

I'm talking mainly about, as an example, this piece inside the widget php file -

Drupal 8 multi language with domain/language (.com,.fr,.de)

Hi,

I'm having issues setting up a multi language site that uses URL detection (domain) when switching language.

So what I want to build is one site with different languages

main (english) would be example.com but then switching language to germany I'd use example.de, french example.fr etc.

I've been able to set it correct it uses the domains, BUT if the user is logged in and switches language the session drops (user logout).

One could think this would be a common use case, but I've only found stuff related to subdomains etc.
