Information stored in Drupal and Google Search resutls

Hey there!

1. Are the "Page" nodes in drupal exposed to Google search?
2. I'm planning to create a module that provide the ability to browse into a DB of products. Can I make the description of theses products available to search engines?

Thanks, cheers & regards,
Nader

Release question, what to do?

I have been searching around for awhile looking at different CMS options for use on a large scale gaming site with social networking features and finally decided that Drupal by far is going to be the best option for what I need in terms of features and scalability. After taking a look at the modules needed for the site, I see that many of the modules that I need to use do not have full 6.x support.

Drupal to manage entire State government website?

I am leading the search for a CMS tool that will be used by a State government to manage all Agency/Bureau/Commission websites. Each site shares a basic structural template, but has a custom header/color scheme. There are 100+ sites, ranging in size from 50 to 6000 pages and we are hoping to host from one CMS installation.

The facts:

Ok I installed Drupal - now what ?!

I have successfully installed on my localhost server. I am now looking for a basic tutorial that shows how I can create a website (i.e. web pages) - and I am coming up with nothing.

So I have installed drupal, and I am now looking at a blank screen - I have no idea (because I can't find any information that tells me) how to do the following:

1). Set up a homepage (i.e. create navigational menus and their associated links)
2). Add additional pages
3). Apply one of the many available themes for use to my website

I have an existing website which is written in HTML/PHP and layout is provided by CSS. I would like to use these pages in my new drupal website - again, after several hours searching the internat, I can't find any info that shows how I can use/import/transform my existing pages into drupal.

Last but not the least, I have a customized user registration wizard that has several steps (HTML+PHP), which I would like to replicate in drupal - again no information to be found....

Also, I have a PHP script that needs to be run once every day (as a chron job) - does anyone know how I can get drupal to run the php script as a chron job?

Drupal for a Multiuser System?

Hi there,

I am new to Drupal and want to ask a few things.

I have a site running with WordPress MU (Multiuser) and I am not really happy. (I can do what I want: My WP-MU is a honeypot for spamers)
Now I want to setup a new site and I am searching another System how can gimme this features:

Is Drupal fit for my project? (mini-encyclopedia)

Hi, I'm new here, so please be kind :)

I love most things about cars, and have a pretty large database on car accessories; from classical stuff to the weirdest thing you can imagine. I started to create a wiki using mediawiki in the hopes of extending my knowledge, and discovering new accessories with the help of contributors. But after discovering Drupal, (about 2 weeks ago) I started to see more possibilities, and distanced myself from being totally reliant on the concept of a wiki.

...But I am still unsure, so I am hoping that some experienced Drupal developers can give me some pointers. I have seen the demo wiki site created with Drupal 6 using wikitools, and the pearwiki filters, and I'm aware of its current functionality. What I am hoping for are alternative ways to create a encyclopedia by centralizing on the core features of Drupal using its stable modules, which I have a very limited knowledge of at this time, but willing to learn.

I would like to have these features on my site.
(( user posting/editing, category pages, image uploads and other general things are assumed possible))

1. Foreign language pages that interlink between corresponding titles like Mediawiki. (I only need English, German & Italian. Not every language on the globe)
